If a team goes over the cap for the first time their best player will be unavailable until the team reduces it's payroll until it is below the cap.
If a team goes over the cap for a second time the teams top 2 players will be unavailable until the team reduces it's payroll until it is below the cap, they will also lose their second round pick in the prospect draft. If the team does not have a second round pick for the next draft they will lose their next available second round draft pick.
If a team goes over the cap for a third time the teams top 5 players will be unavailable until the team reduces it's payroll until it is below the cap, they will also lose their first round pick in the prospect draft. If the team does not have a first round pick for the next draft they will lose their next available first round draft pick.
Please note each week a team remains over the salary cap the punishement moves up the penalty scale.
